OK. this was first thing in the morning, so I am asking for a pass on the hair and makeup |
Woke
to a little beep from a car horn – the baker boulangerie)
announcing his visit to the campground. We had fresh croissants for
breakfast and a just baked petite baguette for later in the day. The
croissants were heavenly. We took our showers at the campground
facility to save our fresh water and delay our need to dump our
tanks. We drove about 45 minutes down the coast (and took the ring
road around LeHavre to avoid city traffic).

Honfleur
is known for its central square that is set around its bay, used as
a marina with ancient skinny buildings and an historical church.
With a little detour through tiny side streets, we found the Aire
right in town next to a dock. $12 for a gravel parking place on the
water with electricity and a place to dump both our tanks and get
fresh water.
Jack
took a long nap after stressing through the narrow streets and then
we went for walk around the town. We found a plaque commemorating
where Champlain left for Canada to “discover” Quebec.
The
streets around the inlet are filled with restaurants and a few shops.

Jack chose one and we sat down to enjoy a drink and dinner, with the
water on one side and great people watching on the other. Jack tried
some escargot – when in France.....
We
returned to the RV, sat outside and enjoyed a glass of our recently
purchased Benedictine and Brandy and had a great conversation with
our neighbor from Frankfurt, Germany. They are touring France much
like we are and had some good tips for us. Great little town and a
nice stop.
