Thursday, July 17: Paris

We left the campground mid-morning to go to the Musee D'Orsay, the home of the Impressionists and post-impressionisis - my favorite.

We again followed a Rick Steve's walking tour that we had dowloaded onto our phones and thoroughly enjoyed this museum.  We already had tickets, so didn't need to stand in line and it was much less crowded.  It was easier to find our areas of interest.

We especially liked seeing Monet's paintings of the Rouen Cathedral and the Etretat Cliffs that we had seen earlier in the trip.  We also enjoyed Gauguin, Van Gogh, Manet, Pissaro, Suerrat, and on and on.  Just fabulous.  No photos allowed, sorry!

But we did have lunch on a wonderful terrace atop the Museum, which was originally an ornate train station - a beautiful building with glass ceiling and wonderful decorations.

We finished up by reviewing the fabulous Rodin sculptures.

After the museum, we headed to St. Germain to stroll around the area...

A great day.
