I walked into Honfluer to get some
photos on the side of the bay that now has some sun.

When I
returned, we dumped the tanks and filled with fresh water. We tried
to drive along the coast as much as possible with the various
prohibitions as we went through the small coastal downs. We drove
through Deauville, upscale coastal resort that is the home of the
famous American Film Festival.
After a nice nap
in the ocean breeze, we stopped to do some grocery shopping and then
a stop at a McDonalds so Jack could resolve some online banking
issues that required both a phone and internet connection.
We headed to the next Aire about 10
miles away in the town of Ouesterham.
We following a tractor pulling
a monster load of hay for at least 4 miles without having anywhere to
pass. He finally went straight and our GPS thankfully took us down a
backroad to the town, but when we got there, no RVS or trucks were
allowed on the bridge, so we had to retrace our route and take the
main road into town. We found the Aire, basically a paved parking
lot just for Rvs with a central service point where we could dump our
gray tanks and some fresh water, if we needed.
At suppertime, we heard something with really big engines. We heard it idling a while, but couldn't see it. Finally, we realized that over the hedges were the smokestacks of a huge cruise ship. we heard their chimed-in announcements in French all evening until about 11pm and then again at 6am. This was their vacation? When did they ever sleep???
