After our stay at Bay of Fundy Park and a stop at Cape Enrage, we went to Halifax to celebrate Canada Day on July 1st. The Citadel sits atop a hill in downtown Halifax where they fired a 21-gun salute with canons. Here the soldiers prepare the canon for its first shot.
This is the town clock that an early Citadel commander built to try to get his troops to be on time.We enjoyed a local brewery tour with wenches, singing and other fun things to do at your everyday 1700's tavern.
A partial view of the extravaganza Royal International Tattoo (see the link for more information). This was an incredible display of military bands, precision marching, choirs, gymnasts from around the world. When the lights came up 1 1/2 hours after the show began, I thought it was done - but it was just the intermission. The show lasted more than three hours - just incredible.
