No, that photo is not a shark, it is a humpback whale. We went on a whale watching cruise in heavy fog and two humpback whales were right next to our boat for almost a half an hour - it was very exciting to see them breach, blow and dive. We didn't chase them, they just swam alongside.
We visited some historical gardens and a very well done early settlement recreation in Annapolis Royal - originally French and then New Englanders who took the wrong side during the Revolutionary War. The settlement recreation was done in the 1930's and 1940's with original tools, no nails, etc. The roses were in full bloom at the gardens and were just beautiful.
We continue to struggle with the fog. We had to take two ferries to get to the small island at the end of the Digby Neck where the whale cruise departed. We had planned to spend time touring the island and walking the coastline, but the fog made it difficult to see hardly anything. Out of time - need to update the rest later.
