En route to Nova Scotia

We drove through Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine on the interstates. We prefer the secondary roads, but because we lost a few days waiting for RV parts, we decided to make up time by driving the fastest route possible to Canada. We saw diesel prices from $4.79 to $5.20 and were lucky to get our fuel at the lower end of the scale - plus our mileage has been increasing from around 15 mpg to over 16 mpg. We struggled a little converting liters to gallons and kilometers to miles (our speedometer doesn't have kilometers). We were slightly confused for a while when listening to the local radio station before I figured out that I had missed the fact that New Brunswick is on Atlantic time (one hour ahead of Eastern) - the same as Nova Scotia.

The Canada border crossing was busy, but we had no problems.
Driving along Canada's roads through New Brunswick we saw beautiful wildflowers everywhere.

We stopped at the Bay of Fundy National Park to experience the 40' tides. It has been misting and foggy all along the Bay of Fundy coast, but the weather cooperated long enough for us to take some great low and high tide photos and to take a couple of short walks.
We visited Alma, a small village next to the Park and saw the fishing boats stranded by the tide. Fishermen go out on high tide and can't return again until the next high tide, roughly 12 hours later.

We stayed at a nice campground right in the Park. We drove down the coast within the Park through this wonderful covered bridge. The view from the side of the bridge was this...
This morning we stopped at Cape Enrage where we walked down to the gravel beach just after high tide to watch the tide go out, but the fog and light rain moved in, so we had to leave before the tide was out.
After lunch, we drove up through New Brunswick and then down into Nova Scotia. I stopped and picked up a 6" high stack of brochures and information at the visitor's bureau. We arrived at our campground just outside Halifax around dinnertime.
We have tickets to the Royal International Tattoo tomorrow in Halifax. There is a link to the right that will tell you more about the Tattoo.
