Central PEI - June 8, 2017

Woke to sunshine and cool temps.  Enjoyed my coffee outside, watching the fishermen in the bay.  On the road about 10am for a 40 minute drive through pretty farm country to the central portion of PEI to play 18 holes at Eagles Glenn golfcourse.  Windy, but in the 70's and a relatively easy course - hardly any water, wide fairways and neither of us lost a single golf ball!  Course is pretty with lots of trees and bunkers with no encroaching civilization.

Went out to dinner about a mile from our campground to an Italian restaurant.  Jack had his usual chicken parm dinner and I had the famous PEI mussels.  They were fresh, tender and even better than Genaro's, which had been my favorite mussel place.

Our campground is a massive summer resort with about 500 campsites, three heated pools, multiple kids' playgrounds, jump castle and petting zoo!  They are near the best beaches in PEI, a water park, small children's adventure park with a huge haunted mansion and the multiple tourist spots for the famous childrens' books about Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery.  Luckily, it is still off season here (two more weeks at least), so there are not many folks here and we got an off season rate that includes hookups and good wifi.

Tomorrow will be mostly an errand day with laundry and RV housekeeping and maintenance details.  Enjoy your weekend!
