We drove through Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine on the interstates. We prefer the secondary roads, but because we lost a few days waiting for RV parts, we decided to make up time by driving the fastest route possible to Canada. We saw diesel prices from $4.79 to $5.20 and were lucky to get our fuel at the lower end of the scale - plus our mileage has been increasing from around 15 mpg to over 16 mpg. We struggled a little converting liters to gallons and kilometers to miles (our speedometer doesn't have kilometers). We were slightly confused for a while when listening to the local radio station before I figured out that I had missed the fact that New Brunswick is on Atlantic time (one hour ahead of Eastern) - the same as Nova Scotia.
The Canada border crossing was busy, but we had no problems.
Driving along Canada's roads through New Brunswick we saw beautiful wildflowers everywhere.
We stopped at the Bay of Fundy National Park to experience the 40' tides. It has been misting and foggy all along the Bay of Fundy coast, but the weather cooperated long enough for us to take some great low and high tide photos and to take a couple of short walks.
We visited Alma, a small village next to the Park and saw the fishing boats stranded by the tide. Fishermen go out on high tide and can't return again until the next high tide, roughly 12 hours later.
We stayed at a nice campground right in the Park. We drove down the coast within the Park through this wonderful covered bridge. The view from the side of the bridge was this...
This morning we stopped at Cape Enrage where we walked down to the gravel beach just after high tide to watch the tide go out, but the fog and light rain moved in, so we had to leave before the tide was out.
After lunch, we drove up through New Brunswick and then down into Nova Scotia. I stopped and picked up a 6" high stack of brochures and information at the visitor's bureau. We arrived at our campground just outside Halifax around dinnertime.
We have tickets to the Royal International Tattoo tomorrow in Halifax. There is a link to the right that will tell you more about the Tattoo.
Nova Scotia Bound
The RV now has a new body control module, a new fuse block and a new slide motor -- and is running great! We decided to continue with our original plan to go to Nova Scotia for July.
We left Bath, New York, on Friday after lunch and drove about 300 miles to western Massachusetts. Today we drove another 325 miles, stopping in Bangor Maine, for the night. Originally, we were going to stop in Deer Isle, Maine to pick up a replacement part for our Alligator sculpture, but since we lost a few days waiting for parts in New York, we decided to stop on our way back or have him ship the replacement part home to SC.
Tomorrow we're planning to visit Fundy National Park in New Brunswick, Canada to see the highest tides in the world - averaging about 40 feet. We are thrilled to finally start our trip!

Waiting
Great minds thinking...while we waited for the RV repairs in NJ at Charlie & Rayne's.
Here's a photo of part of Rayne's gardens that we enjoyed while waiting for the RV repairs in NJ.
While waiting for RV repairs in New York, we saw this antiques shop - our team name for our Friday Night Trivia!
Trivia Contest!!!! Here's the billboard entrance to Elmira....who can name all the folks in the photo? hint - The guy front and center is not Jack - Jack couldn't make the photoshoot because he had a tee time.

Good News today - one more part and the RV "should" be completely fixed tomorrow. We've been able to stay in the RV while waiting in NY at a very nice campground in the Finger Lakes, so it hasn't been too hard on us while waiting for parts and repairs. Turns out there were multiple malfunctioning electronic components that were complicated by bad repairs done in both Charleston and NJ. We are hopeful that they finally have it right this time...
New York
We had a great time playing golf and visiting with family, but the RV work done in NJ didn't cure our problem.
When we arrived in the Elmira area, we arranged for a local Sprinter dealership to look at the RV and we are now waiting for parts - again. We are having a nice time visiting friends and favorite restaurants and Jack played golf at his old home course. Lots to do here in the beautiful Finger Lakes area.

Visiting Friends & Family
In spite of the record heat and humidity here in New Jersey, we're having a wonderful time visiting friends, family and favorite places.
The module that was replaced on the RV before we left was still not acting right, so we made an appointment with a dealer here in NJ. Today they diagnosed a fuse center electrical problem and we are waiting for the part that is expected to arrive today or tomorrow. They assure us that this will resolve the problem.... stay tuned.

Packed & Ready To Go - Almost
We've been anxious to get on the road the past couple of days. The RV needed an electronic module replaced this morning, so we couldn't pack until the afternoon. After a lot of walking, hauling and lifting in today's unusual heat and humidity, we've got pretty much everything loaded.
Tomorrow we'll start the RV up and get the refrigerator cooled off so we can load the refrigerated and frozen food. After our showers in the morning, the personal toiletries will be packed and we'll be ready to rock and roll!
