We are back on the road and it is wonderful!We left home on Thursday to help Alicia celebrate her 40th birthday at a surprise party in Charlotte. The next day we headed west into the mountains around Asheville with gorgeous views like this along the Blue Ridge Parkway.

We wanted to hike to the Craggy Pinnacle that gives 360 views of the mountains along a trail that is canopied with native rhododendrons. Unfortunately, we were too early as you can see in the photo, but there were glimmers of what it would look like in a week or so.Even though we did not get to walk through the tunnels of pink and purple rhododendrons, we were rewarded with amazing views.
